Welcome to my blog, and hopefully as time goes by and I continue to endeavour and develop as an artist through my BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art; there will be a highly diverse range of works to look through!
My artistic practice is very much centred upon the metaphysical journeys toward self-realisation... questionning the very essence of what we consider the 'self', and the influences that social, geographic, cultural, physical and mental states of displacement can have upon the quest to gaining even a vague understanding of who we truly are... to coin my own term; "Navigating the imaginary landscape of my displacement."
I work in a variety of mediums ranging from creative writing and photography, to peformance art and site specific installation; always questionning the origins of, and routes that my personal elements of displacement have arisen from, and always hoping to regain a degree of self-understanding and complacency.
This blog shows images of my previous and upcoming exhibitions throughout 2010/11, as well as photo galleries of my Falkland photographs, samples of sketchbook work, creative writings and critical questionnings, interesting Gallery Exhibitions throughout the wonderful land of Yorkshire; and any other particuarly interesting observations and considerations that happen to be rattling my brain... Enjoy...
